Tithe Barn Bolton Abbey Wedding Photography
A beautiful wedding at the Tithe Barn, Bolton Abbey, Yorkshire. Cripps Co. Photography by Jenna Meeking
On a perfect summers day in September 2019, Rebecca and Richard got married. They did it in style at the Tithe Barn, Bolton Abbey.
I grew up just down the road from Bolton Abbey. I have so many memories there. From bonfire nights, family walks, picnics by the river, popping my sisters inflatable bubble bag... remember those!? and believe it or not, it was one of the first places I photographed when I got my first 'proper' camera whilst at college.
Tithe Barn is one of those venues that no matter where in the world you are from, no matter how many times you have travelled or photographed weddings... it will always take your breath away. It is an incredible Yorkshire wedding venue. Set in the stunning grounds of Bolton Abbey estate surrounded by sheep and greenery overlooking the beautiful Priory ruins (where you can also get married). The interior of the barn has been designed with weddings in mind (you always know you're going to a good wedding venue when it has been created by the Cripps & Co.). It is a wedding photographers deam venue. The lighting changes throughout the day from bright and airy to romantic and pretty in the evening. The fairy lights create a beautiful atmostphere. The relaxed and cosy layout make you feel like royalty but also makes you feel like its ok to kick off your shoes.
I am so privilaged to be listed as one of the recommended wedding photographer suppliers at Tithe Barn Bolton Abbey!
CRIPPS AND CO. TITHE BARN BOLTON ABBEY WEDDING VENUE
So, whenever a couple chooses me to photograph their wedding at the beautiful new barn I am always super excited!! I swear it has nothing to do with the amazing wedding food they serve.
Rebecca got ready at her parent's house and childhood home surrounded by her immediate family (Mum, Dad, Sister and her lovely Grandma!) and her close friends. It was such a lovely start to the day. All the girls were in their matching PJ's and drank Mimosa in the sun!
As soon as I was able to get everyones reaction of Rebecca in her beautiful dress I set off to Bolton Abbey to meet all the boys - which was such a lovely drive over. They had a couple of photos outside to calm the nerves then headed indoors to greet the guests and wait for Rebecca and the bridesmaids to arrive. Rebecca arrived first in the beautiful vintage wedding car. Check out the photos when she steps out of the car and how amazing she looks!
Rebecca and Richard's smiles were infectious. They grinned from ear to ear throughout the whole ceremony, down the isle, through the confetti... and the love their friends and family had for them was so clear to see. Everyone was so happy. It was the perfect day for a perfect wedding!
After the ceremony it was time for the amazing canapes, fizz and beverages. I let couples enjoy this moment with their guests to say their best wishes and realise they have just got married. However, with the chefs being so amazing at Tithe Barn they are strict when it comes to serving the food - and rightly so. So we headed out down the front of the barn with some country side photos with the sheep and barn in the distance.
The reception was so lovely and chilled. I love the relaxed layout of the long tables in the tithe barn (they are able to do so many amazing set ups), everyone enjoyed the food and the hilarious, well written speeches. I especially love it when couples make a speech together.
As the sun was going down we headed down to the Priory and the river where I was able to get the most amazing photos. The lighting was just perfect and it was super quiet - which meant we got the whole place to ourselves (par a dog walker).
The beautiful bouquets were hand made by Gathered Garden (who has just partnered with the amazing Owl House Flowers).
A big thank you to the Cripps and Co staff at Bolton Abbey for being so accomodating again and for Rebecca and Richards family for being so welcoming and lovely. I always want to say I want to do it all again, but I guess its wrong to say that about weddings...
I cannot wait for so many more weddings in this beautiful place.
